The beat(en) legacy goes on.

The beat(en) legacy goes on. A.K.A. Cryin' and hollin' out my balcony.

You know Sonia Gandhi? So, Sonia Gandhi father-in-law die today. Look here (taking out a 500 Rupee note, unfolding it, frantically pointing at Gandhiji). Birth-day, death-day? I don’t know. I go see (pointing at the adjacent cricket field, which had since early afternoon given refuge to huge white canvas tents, air heavily fragranced with old, fried grease, and since early evening had spewed out a live concert.

NB: Gandhiji, né Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (led non-violence struggle that ended British colonial rule over India, born 2 October 1869, Porbandar, India). At age 13 his parents arranged for him to marry Kasturba and together they bore four children, none of whom ever wed Sonia Gandhi (née Antonia Maino, current President of the Indian National Congress, widow of former Prime Minister, born 9 December 1946, Ovassanjo, Italy).
